Starting on August 5, the Tokae (lantern festival) has become a summer tradition in Nara. On the 15th, the Nara Daimonji Bonfire will be held.
POST is an art bookshop specializing in Western books, which opened in Yoyogi, Tokyo and has since moved to Ebisu, Tokyo. The appeal of this bookstore, which carries books in a variety of genres including art, photography, architecture, and design, is that it selects books from publishers and changes the selection over a period of time. All of the books in Suimontei’s salon and lodging rooms have been selected by POST’s Nakajima-san.
We hope you will enjoy the time you spend with these books as one of your encounters with the stars.
Suimontei’s restaurant, “Toki”, will be open for a limited time only! Aubergine, kakiage, grilled rice balls, tofu, and even some meat… Enjoy a variety of delicious food on a summer evening, depending on your mood. Be it beer, wine, sake, or whatever you feel like drinking that day, enjoy a little bit of whatever you like. Afterwards, we will go for a pleasant stroll in Nara Park to see the Toka-eki lantern festival. Enjoy a book and a meal. We hope you will enjoy your summer evening in Nara.
8月5日から始まる、奈良の夏の風物詩となった燈花会。そして、15日には奈良大文字送り火。
そんな奈良の夜に、翠門亭では、「NIGHT BOOK STORE」と称して夕暮れの少し手前頃から本屋さんをオープンします。POSTの選書による魅力的な本たちが並びます。
POSTは洋書を専門とするアートブックショップで、東京の代々木でオープンし、恵比寿に拠点を移されています。アート、写真、建築、デザインなどさまざまなジャンルの本を取り扱うこの書店の魅力は、出版社というくくりでセレクトし、一定期間で本を入れ替えるスタイル。翠門亭のサロンや宿泊に置かれている本たちも全てPOSTの中島さんによる選書たちです。
星の数ほどある本たちとの巡り合う時間を、ぜひ、一つの出会いとしてお楽しみください。
What’s “POST”
2011年にオープンした出版社という括りで定期的に扱っている本が全て入れ代わるアートブックショップ。
恵比寿の店舗では常に入れ替わる本棚に加え、ドイツのSTEIDL社のメインラインナップが並ぶオフィシャルブックショップとなっている。
ブックセレクトや展覧会の企画、書籍の出版、ブックシェルフコーディネート、 ライブラリー構築なども手がけおり、2015年からはTOKYO ART BOOK FAIR のディレクター、コミッティメンバーも務めている。
