We are pleased to announce our first exhibition at Suimontei. The artist, Yuri Kuroda, will gather 51 wolves at Suimontei.
このたび、翠門亭にて初の個展を開催いたします。 作家、黒田有里による51体のオオカミちゃんが翠門亭に集結します。

Suimontei is a special place in the ancient capital of Nara that was created by fusing something new with something inherited from ancient times. This time, 51 wolves will gather there. Please come and see the “white fantasy” spun out at Suimontei!

White fantasy
That is her world. When I visited her studio for the first time, that was the only word I could find to describe her world. The world of her and wolves. A world as pure as it gets.
There, she assembles the wolves’ eyes, ears, teeth, bones, and body, and the wolves are born. She buys cloth from fabric stores and thrift shops to suit each of them, and dresses them, sewing and tailoring each piece of clothing to suit them. By that time, they have already developed a will!
The moment I touched their shoulders, I was overcome with feelings of love from within. The moment when my feelings were touched was an encounter.
I would be happy if you could feel as if you had visited the world of the white wolves and their encounters. I would like you to touch her world, a world of purity, innocence, and beauty.
I am looking forward to seeing what will be left for you after your visit and encounter.

それが彼女の世界。彼女のアトリエにはじめて訪れた時、その世界を一言で表すならそれしかなかった言葉。彼女とオオカミたちの世界。
どこまでもピュアな世界
そこで彼女はオオカミの目や耳、歯やつくり、骨を組み立て顔や体となって、オオカミが生まれていきます。それぞれに似合うように生地屋や古着屋で布を買い集め、一着一着似合うものを考えて縫って仕立てて彼らに服を着せます。その頃には、もう彼らには意志が生まれているのです
わたしがその子たちの両肩に触れた瞬間、内側から溢れてきたのは、愛おしい、という感情 こんなにも、とめどなく出てくるものかと思うほどに切なくも愛おしい想いを感じずにはいれなくなりました。コトッと自分の感情が動いた瞬間それは出会いです。
白いオオカミたちとの出会い、その世界を少しでもみなさまに感じてもらえたらその世界に訪れてみたような感覚になってもらえたらうれしいです。彼女の世界に触れてみてほしいそれは純粋で無垢で美しい世界です
訪れたあと、出会いのあとに、みなさまには何が残っているのか、楽しみです。
